Some application options are available through the toolbar under the main menu.
Hover your mouse over a button to see the tooltip for the item. Items that are not available will be grayed out in the toolbar.

Access modes of the database file - In most cases you will want to use non-exclusive read-write access to ensure your application can still open the database while you have it open in the Data Builder. You may quickly change the access mode for the currently open database using this button.
